Galway artist Pádraic Reaney is among the featured artists included in the 16th Lessedra World Art Print Annual — Mini Print 2017 Sofia, Bulgaria.

Opening on the 22th June. Pádraic is showing two Giclee prints. Inishark No. 1 and No.2 both pieces are from the project Pádraic has been working on to do with the houses on Inishark. He first started doing drawing and colour studies of the houses on the island for this project in 2002 and has visited the island many times since. He is now using this information for painting and graphics for his upcoming exhibition in Kenny’s art gallery in October 2018.

Pádraic was invited to show one of his paintings from the Crazy Jane serious in a group exhibition in the Hamilton Gallery in Sligo. The exhibition opened on the 13th of June to the 2nd of September.

Info from the gallery:
“Crazy Jane” is the third iteration of Hamilton Gallery’s annual invited artists exhibition series themed around the works of W B Yeats. Ninety two visual artists from all over Ireland bring their own contemporary visual reflections to bear on Yeats’ most potent and visceral female foil Crazy Jane. Through her they revisit and comment afresh, with the perspective of an artist’s eye, on the themes of culture, sexuality and religion that spurred Yeats into writing these poems almost 85 years ago”.
